This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with local communities and drive initiatives that generate income and employment opportunities within impacted villages.
Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Community Superintendent, the Community Business Development Officer will play a pivotal role in implementing community-based business initiatives. You will be responsible for coordinating, promoting, delivering, and evaluating community business development projects, contributing to the economic growth of the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and analyze community business development opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies, plans, and programs that generate income and support employment opportunities within impacted communities.
- Assist in the establishment and registration of local businesses, providing support throughout the business creation process.
- Manage and collaborate with specialist consultants engaged to implement identified business opportunities.
- Support community engagement initiatives as instructed by the Community Superintendent.
- Lead and develop skills development opportunities to establish alternative forms of income and employment within impacted communities.
- Collaborate closely with external stakeholders, including relevant Malian administrative authorities, to obtain project approvals and ensure ongoing support for these programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven ability to work at the village level, engaging with the community and being led by the community in designing and implementing sustainable projects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery and coordination of projects.
- Qualifications in Community Development, Economics, or a Finance discipline are advantageous.
